There are all sorts of decks. Each like a fingerprint. What size? How long? Yes. But, what is the height at the house? What is the height at the furthest point considering grade? Do certain parts exceed 2 feet? Is railing needed to Code? What material? Pressure treated? Cedar? Composite? Are there tree roots that will interfere with hole-digging? Stairs needed? How many sets? How high (roughly) are the stairs going to be? Privacy screen? Skirting? Gate below deck for storage? – Simple questions, simple answers. Just a few of the things that I need to measure, see, or ask in order to give a quote. An in-person visit is best, that’s the first step.

THIS IS A FLOATING DECK DETACHED FROM HOUSE WITH NO FOOTINGS

THIS IS A FLOATING DECK. CUSTOMER DID NOT WANT IT ATTACHED TO HOUSE FOR EASY REMOVAL IF NEED BE, FOR HOUSE RE-SALE FACTORS. THIS DECK INCLUDED A STEP, AND TRIM AND JUST A NICE CLEAN LOOK. FOR REMOVABLE REASONS, NO FOOTINGS WERE DUG AND INSTALLED, BUT INSTEAD CUSTOMER OPTED FOR DECK POST BLOCKS. DECK BLOCKS ARE INSTALLED LEVEL AND PERFECT NONETHELESS. DECK BLOCKS ARE MORE VULNERABLE TO HEAVING IN THE WINTER WITH FREEZING GROUND. THE FURTHER AWAY FROM THE HOUSE THAT THE DECK BLOCKS ARE, THE MORE SUSCEPTIBLE THAT THEY ARE TO HEAVING WITH THE FREEZING GROUND. THIS TWISTS THE DECK IN EXTREME SITUATIONS. WHICH IS WHY DECK FOOTINGS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST OPTION FOR A DECK, MINIMUM.

IT HAS RAILING, STAIRS, SKIRTING, LIGHTING, GATE FOR ACCESS TO BELOW DECK AND A PRIVACY SCREEN ON THE DECK. IT ALSO HAS A 15 FOOT PRIVACY FENCE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PATIO.  IT’S A STANDARD PROGRESSION OF A DECK BUILD IN IMAGES. INCLUDING REMOVAL AND HOLE-DIGGING AND FINAL CONSTRUCTION.

COMPOSITE DECK WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES

THIS IS A VERY HIGH END MULTI-TIERED COMPOSITE DECK. WITH GLASS PRIVACY SCREEN, WITH 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS INCLUDING TWO PLATFORMS. AND THE DECK ITSELF IS TWO-TIERED AS WELL. IT HAS ETP RAILING WHICH IS PRE-MEASURED AND PRE-FABRICATED AND MADE TO ORDER. WE ALSO ENCLOSED THE SPACE BELOW THE STAIRS FOR STORAGE OF LAWN MOWERS AND SNOW BLOWERS ETC. (WITH SIDING – ONE TIME ONLY) BELOW THE 14’ HIGH DECK, AND BESIDE THE POOL, WE INSTALLED CLADDING AROUND POSTS WITH LEDGES. CLEAN LOOKING.

STANDARD LOW PT DECK, NO RAILING, 2 SETS OF STAIRS AND A CUSTOM 5 INCH HIGH PLATFORM

THIS IS A STANDARD PRESSURE TREATED LOW-HEIGHT DECK BUILD. CUSTOMER PURCHASED HOME AND HAD AN OBVIOUSLY FAILING DECK. THEY NEEDED THE SAME THING REPLACED, BUT ONE THAT IS STRUCTURALLY SOUND AND THAT WILL LAST THE TEST OF TIME. VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD. IT’S A START-TO-FINISH SLIDESHOW. STAIRS WERE PREVIOUSLY SITTING ON SOIL, WHICH ROTTED THEM. NOW TO CODE THE STAIRS FALL ON PATIO SLABS AND HAVE LIMESTONE SCREENING BELOW, FOR WATER DRAINAGE. BELOW THE OLD DECK WAS A STRUCTURE THAT WOULD’VE FAILED AN INSPECTION 30 YEARS AGO. NOW BROUGHT UP TO DATE, AND CUSTOMERS WERE HAPPY. JUST THE WAY IT SHOULD BE.
